Re: Treasured possession
Yeah just the dog.

Have never been attached to anything in life and arent really an emotional person, so even things my dad has made me with his wood turning wouldn't bother me if they broke.

The missus would probably say something that was her sisters, as she died suddenly when she was about 39 so never got to say goodbye.

Re: Treasured possession
Also got an old pewter pint pot that my grandad found, again, on a skip in the 60s with Lord Henniker inscribed on the bottom. The Lord Henniker was at Maryland point.

That’s pretty cool and must be donkeys years old.

Re: Treasured possession
When I was about 10 I found a piece of wood in a hedge with the initials of the blokes who'd lived in our house in the 1860's carved into it.

That was pretty cool I suppose but as he was no blood relation it meant shit to me.

Re: Treasured possession
Today’s 3 points?

Also an old battered and not particularly pretty cabinet made by a great uncle who was in the Essex regiment and was killed on the Somme.

I was lucky to get it off the skip as it was nearly launched when my nan died.

A small piece of clay pipe that I found in a field whilst out shooting with my dad ,mid 90s , my dad kept it and I only found it in 2017 when clearing his house after his passing . Brought a little tear to my eye .

Re: Treasured possession
I'm surprised that the first two replies have been for signatures (not withstanding the undisputed magnificence of the blokes originally holding the pen)

Thought people would go for something more personal.

Re: Treasured possession
I'm talking inanimate objects.

The one thing that would rip your guts if you lost it.

Doesn't have to be expensive but might be.

Father in law bought me a top quality watch 22 years ago but that's not it.

The one thing I'd keep is my Dad's crappy old Long Life bottle opener.
